The individuals nominated should have made a significant impact or positive influence that assures the future of our industry in the lives of generations to come.

 

Once nominated, an individual’s biography and photo are updated on the site, and he or she is placed in the polls for voting. At the end of the year the committee takes into consideration the votes and decides which candidates are inducted.

 

Those with a star (*) next to their name below were either inducted posthumously or have passed away since being inducted.

Greg Nieves

 

Greg Nieves has built his career and leadership philosophy around a strong commitment to community, environmental stewardship, and the well-being of the people around him. Through Nieves Landscape, Greg has consistently supported organizations, educational programs, and community events that make a positive impact throughout the communities the company serves.

A strong advocate for environmental education, Greg and Nieves Landscape have proudly sponsored the Orange County Water District’s Children’s Water Education Festival, an interactive program that introduces students to the importance of water conservation, environmental stewardship, and STEM education through engaging, hands-on experiences. The company also participates in Lake Forest’s Arbor Day and Earth Day celebrations, volunteering time to help educate children about trees, conservation, and responsible care for the environment.

Greg’s community involvement extends well beyond the landscape industry. For the past three years, he has served as the title sponsor of the Paw Creek Classic, helping raise critical resources for the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and its work caring for animals and finding them loving homes. Nieves Landscape also participates in Aliso Viejo’s Safety Week, helping teach children about the importance of staying safe around heavy equipment.

Supporting young people and local families has also been a longstanding priority for Greg. He has regularly contributed to youth softball, soccer, and baseball programs throughout the company’s service areas and neighboring communities. Most recently, his support included a contribution to the Mission Viejo High School Toro Boys Baseball Team.

Perhaps the strongest reflection of Greg’s character can be seen in the way he supports his employees. He believes that a company’s responsibility to its people can extend beyond the workplace, particularly during times of genuine hardship. Over the years, Greg has personally stepped forward on numerous occasions to assist employees facing unexpected personal or family crises. Depending on the circumstances, that assistance has included continued wage support, funeral expenses, emergency travel costs, and other financial help intended to ease the burden during particularly difficult times.

These efforts reflect Greg Nieves’ approach to leadership: building a successful company while remaining committed to its employees, its communities, and the environment it serves. His generosity, civic involvement, and dedication to giving back have made community service an integral part of the culture of Nieves Landscape.
